Friday night gave us a packed slate across both MLB and the WNBA, and with it came some drama for our betting slips. Let’s break down how the picks cashed—or didn’t—based on the final results.
MLB Recap
The night started strong in Colorado, where Pirates rookie Braxton Ashcraft delivered exactly what we needed. He went five full innings, recording 15 outs before handing the ball over to the bullpen. That cleared the Over 14.5 outs prop and set the tone early.
Things weren’t as kind in Philadelphia. The Phillies dropped a tough one to the Nationals, 5–4, and while Bryson Stott and J.T. Realmuto went deep, Kyle Schwarber never left the yard. That home run prop came up empty.
On the West Coast, our value parlay survived the late-night grind. The Dodgers and Padres combined for just three runs in San Diego, cruising well under the 8.5 total. Paired with Ashcraft’s outs hitting earlier in the night, that two-leg parlay cashed without much sweat.
WNBA Recap
Over in Indiana, Kelsey Mitchell reminded everyone why she’s one of the league’s elite scorers. She dropped 27 points in the Fever’s battle with the Lynx, cashing the Over 20.5 points prop and even dishing out 5 assists along the way.
Unfortunately, the rest of the WNBA card didn’t follow suit. Paige Bueckers struggled against Seattle’s defense, finishing with only 11 points—well shy of the 20 needed for her over. Skylar Diggins-Smith also went cold from deep, missing all three of her attempts beyond the arc. That meant the larger parlay, which needed Bueckers to clear 19.5, Mitchell to tally over 4.5 assists, and Diggins to hit at least two threes, was dead before the night ended.
Final Takeaways
- Winners: Ashcraft outs, Dodgers–Padres under, Mitchell points.
- Losers: Schwarber HR, Bueckers points, Diggins threes, value parlay with WNBA legs.
It was a mixed night overall—MLB delivered some solid wins while the WNBA props reminded us how tough player parlays can be to hit. That’s the rollercoaster of betting: some legs cash easily, others slip away quick.
We’ll regroup, look at Saturday’s matchups, and keep grinding for the next slate of opportunities.
