⚾️⛹️‍♀️🏌️‍♂️🏎️ Betting Recap: What Hit and What Missed on August 15, 2025

Friday brought us a loaded card across golf, MLB, WNBA, NFL preseason, and NASCAR Trucks. We had a mix of sharp calls, frustrating near-misses, and a few plays still pending. Let’s run through the results and see how things shook out.

LIV Golf Indianapolis

The Chatham Hills opener delivered fireworks as Sebastián Muñoz stole the show with a ridiculous 59. Joaquin Niemann stayed in the hunt with a 64, while Jon Rahm shot 67 to sit a few shots back.

  • Rahm to Win (+460): Still alive going into the weekend, but he’s chasing a hot leaderboard.
  • Paul Casey over Bubba Watson (-125): ❌ Missed. Bubba edged Casey by one stroke (66 vs. 67).
  • Ballester Top-20 + Casey over Bubba parlay: ❌ The Casey leg already killed this one. Ballester sits outside the top-20 after day one.

MLB & WNBA Best Bets

MLB

  • Zack Wheeler Over Ks / 7+ ladder: ❌ Fell short with 6 strikeouts against Washington.
  • Rangers @ Blue Jays 1st Five Under: ✅ Cashed easily, just 3 runs through five innings.
  • Wheeler Ks + Rangers/Jays F5 Under parlay: ❌ One leg good, one leg sunk it.

WNBA

  • Mystics + Points at Fever: ✅ Washington pulled off the outright win, proving Indiana’s offense just isn’t the same without Caitlin Clark.
  • Valkyries @ Sky Under: ❌ Painful beat. Game landed 149, sliding just over a posted 148.5 in many spots.
  • Mystics + Points + Under parlay: ❌ The under spoiled it.

NFL Preseason

Preseason edges were all about quarterback rotations, and they came through for us.

  • Easton Stick Over 12.5 completions: ✅ Cashed with 19 completions.
  • Seahawks 1H -1.5: ✅ Seattle jumped on Kansas City early and led 23–7 at the half.
  • Falcons ML + Seahawks ML parlay: ❌ The Falcons let us down in a 23–20 loss, even though Seattle delivered.

NASCAR Trucks — Richmond Raceway

Richmond lived up to the hype with strategy and tire wear in play.

  • Ty Majeski Top-3: ✅ He finished P2, backing up last year’s Richmond win with another strong run.
  • Grant Enfinger H2H: ❌ Disappointing P13 finish. Most common matchups had him losing.
  • Majeski Top-5 + Toyota Top Manufacturer (Cup on Sunday): Halfway home. Majeski nailed the top-5, and we’ll see if Toyota can carry us on Sunday.

Quick Scorecard

Hits (6): Rangers/Jays F5 Under, Mystics + Points, Stick completions, Seahawks 1H, Majeski Top-3, Majeski Top-5 (parlay leg).

Misses (6): Wheeler Ks, Valkyries/Sky Under, two parlays, Falcons ML, Casey over Bubba.

Pending (2): Rahm outright, Toyota Cup leg.

Takeaways

  • Preseason QB rotations are gold. Stick and Seattle’s starters made both bets sweat-free.
  • Unders can be brutal. One extra bucket in Sky/Valkyries flipped what looked like a lock.
  • Golf matchups are volatile. Casey over Bubba looked sharp but lost by a single stroke. Sometimes it’s better to wait until after round one to pounce.

All told, Friday was a balanced slate with six solid wins, six misses, and two tickets still alive. The best part? The weekend’s still just getting started.
