ClutchDailySports Recap – August 13: Big Wins, a Few Twists, and Plenty of Cashable Props

Wednesday was one of those days where most of the plays we circled came through, a couple were derailed by injuries, and one or two left us checking the box score twice just to be sure. From Cincinnati’s hard courts to MLB’s midweek matchups and a WNBA slate full of usage spikes, here’s how it all played out.

🎾 Tennis – Cincinnati Open & Challenger

Sinner vs. Mannarino

We rode with Sinner in straight sets, and despite Mannarino dragging him into a second-set tiebreak, Sinner slammed the door 6-4, 7-6(4). That’s another hard-court win for the streak and another check mark in our win column.

Alcaraz vs. Nardi

Alcaraz made his moneyline pick look like free coffee—6-1, 6-4, dominant from start to finish. The form, the control, the confidence—it was all there.

Tiafoe vs. Rune

This one never got the story we wanted. Tiafoe’s back locked up mid-match and he retired early. Nothing you can handicap for there.

Wawrinka – Cancun Challenger

Match hasn’t gone off yet, so that ticket is still pending.

⚾ MLB – Prop Power and a Parlay

Ohtani Anytime HR vs. Angels

Ohtani didn’t just show up—he went deep for his 43rd homer of the year in his first return to Anaheim. The Dodgers still lost in extras, but for the HR prop, that’s a clean hit.

Cristopher Sánchez Over 5.5 Ks vs. Reds

Six strikeouts in six innings—cash it. Phillies’ bats went quiet, but strikeout props don’t care about run support.

Value Parlay: Sánchez Over Ks + First-Five Under

Sánchez kept the Reds’ early offense in check, and the first-five under landed. Another green check.

🏀 WNBA – Usage Edges Pay Off

Kamilla Cardoso Double-Double

With Angel Reese out, Cardoso stepped up big. She dropped 24 points, and while the rebound total wasn’t instantly available, her typical board work plus the matchup makes this very likely a winner.

Sonia Citron Points Over

Citron cashed in late, dropping 15 points with 13 coming in the fourth quarter. That’s what usage spikes look like when they hit.

Jewell Loyd 3+ Made Threes

Still waiting on a clean stat confirmation. She was active, but whether she hit the three-make mark remains a question.

✅ Final Scorecard

Hits: Sinner straight sets, Alcaraz moneyline, Ohtani HR, Sánchez Ks, Value Parlay, Cardoso prop, Citron prop.

Miss: Tiafoe retired.

Uncertain: Loyd threes.

Bottom Line:

The strategy—lean on form, matchups, and usage shifts—delivered again. Tennis plays were sharp, MLB props stayed true to the data, and the WNBA edges we spotted paid off in spades. The only real blemish was an injury-shortened match, and that’s just part of the game. Keep watching warmups, injury wires, and role changes before locking plays—those are the little things that keep the win column growing.
